The album was recorded on May 10, 2015 during a concert at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Thanks to the enthusiastic reaction of the audience, the atmosphere of the concert was exceptional. This special atmosphere is reflected in the live recording and the material selected for the album. This is the first album recorded at the POLIN Museum Auditorium.
The previous album of the NAXOS Orchestra was ranked second in the POLITYKA weekly ranking in the EVENT OF THE YEAR category.
The founder of the NAXOS Orchestra – Milo Kurtis – says about the project: All my life I was an emigrant in various countries. Since I decided to settle permanently in Poland, I started looking for other artists who also settled here. I was surprised by the number of outstanding musicians who chose Poland as their second homeland. It took me several years to search and the result is the NAXOS Orchestra.
The NAXOS Orchestra is a Polish response to the world-famous trend that combines cultures and musical genres, known as “Music of the World”. It brings together artists from Poland, Greece, Syria and Yemen who have settled permanently in Poland. It connects the culture of the Balkans and the Middle East, i.e. the Mediterranean roots of most artists.
The NAXOS Orchestra was founded in 2012 in collaboration with Milo Kurtis and Konstanty Joriadis. The result of this cooperation was the recording of the album “Travel Dookoła Mózgu” released in 2014 by Warner Music Poland.
